Show VETS ORDER FRENCH CANNON FOR GIFT TO MILFORD CITY SCHOOL A French 75 M M gun is on its way from the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois Illin-ois to Milford where it will be presented pre-sented to the Milford High school as -the gift of the Escalantc Post number 15-10 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, according to Al Joest a member mem-ber of the committee delegated to make arrangements for the procuring of the gift. Funds to cover the expense of purchasing pur-chasing ami installing the gun were raised last year by fiances sponsored by the organization, so that as soon as there is suitable weather for putting put-ting in the concrete base for the gun, it will he installed in front of the high school building. The committee has also ordered shells for the gun from the government govern-ment ar.-.enal in Maylnrid ami these will be placed with tiie gun on high school hill when it is dedicated with suitable ceremoni'-s in the spring. The committee that is handling the fletails of procuring and iu. tailing the gift is made up of: Al ,loe-t, Earl Gleason and LaMar Outzen. |
