Last week Mr. Legg of the Landes Machine Co., sold two more of their tractors in this locality, one to Isaac Jacobs and another to Mr. Hilliard. This makes four of these engines in this locality. They will ship three engines, or a car load, here the coming week and an extra one will be on hands for some one who is contemplating the purchase of an engine. L. Anderson, of Riverside Cal., came in Wednesday morning to look after his farm at Sugarville. Mr. Anderson thinks the country looks fine and far better than he has ever seen it with its numerous numer-ous grain and hay stacks. He contemplates building more to his house and is figuring on moving mov-ing his family up later in the fall when the railroad is completed to his place. We are informed that in a great many sections of the In-termountain In-termountain country, owing to the dry, hot summer, they are running short of water for irrigating ir-rigating purposes. It is reported report-ed that in Davis county the sugar sug-ar beet crop will be greatly im-pared im-pared for want of water. This project seems very fortunate in that respect as we are informed that there will be water available avail-able for sugar beets and all fall grain and that the supply will hold out until October and very likely be augmented by rains before be-fore the supply is exhausted. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Presnall, of Etna Green, Ind., who have a Carey-act place out near Sugarville, Sugar-ville, came in on Tuesday's afternoon after-noon train and will make their home here until they have made final proof. Mr. Presnall has properly in Indiana and after he has shaped up his business affairs af-fairs there he expects to take up his residence here. He states that this is his third trip to this valley and the more he sees of it the better he likes it, and when he has viewed the crops this year and looks over the prospects pros-pects he will be loath to leave for the east again. |
