A very enjoyable enjoy-able time was spent in reading, sevving and planing for a trip for the followng week. A dainty luncheon was served. . Athena Beckwith and Pearl Tozer made quite a record in the sugar beet field at the V. V. Calvert Cal-vert farm the first of the week when they thinned enough beets to bring them in $2.50 each, in about nine hours. That's a pretty pret-ty good record for two young-ladies young-ladies inexperienced in the fields. And papa Beckwith got stuck for two fifty too, as he agreed when Miss Athena started out, to give her as much more as she could earn. Robert G. Allison, of Chicago who has been here since last March visiting his brother, J. H. and recuperating in health, left last week to resume his duties as engineer of the public library at Chicago. Mr. Allison, who was all in, down and out when he came here, went away the picture pict-ure of health. During his stay he was out in the hills with a number of our people and had a glorious time rusticating. He left with many good words for the people and high praise foi the country and we look for him ynd he also figures that he will again be headed this way some of these days before long. Bishop Maxfield was called to Salt Lake Monday on buisness. Mrs. Ray Bishop has been quite sick but is reported improving. Dr. Richards spent several days the past week in Salt Lake City. County Attorney King was seen circuiting around these parts last Tuesday. Douglas Lisonbee, a former resident of Delta is here from St. George, for a visit. Mrs. C. 0. Davi? and son Bil-lie, Bil-lie, left last Thursday for Ogden tor a visit of a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Alf Morrill and Miss Armileen Jacobs went to Torrey to spend the 24th. George Billings went to Leamington Leam-ington Monday night where he will deliver a power washer. Mrs. Frank Wood returned the fore part of the week from Hol-den Hol-den where she visited relatives. Mrs. M. P. Milligan and little son, of Tintic, are visiting Agent Bates and wife at the Salt Lake Station. Postmaster Faust will leave today to-day for Fish lake where he will rusticate for a short time, and construct a few fish stories to spin when he gets back. Messrs. Sam Dunsmore and J. Jimpson. who are interested in the Dunsmore block and other property, are here this week visiting and attending to business. busi-ness. Wm. H. Gardner, father of Eugene and Wm. N Gardner, who has been here for some time past building a house for Guss BUlings, left last Thursday for his home at Salem, Utah. J. M. Davis and J. T. Lant, field men for the Utah-Idaho Sugar Co , were in town this week looking after the sugar beets the company has contracts for in this vicinity.
