Show up-to-date supper ever served in the grove. We also enjoyed that "boat ride" (?) Our chaperon took six different differ-ent pictures of the girls in action. The camera howevsr was insured. After supper we decended into in-to the swamp for another Virginia Vir-ginia reel, which ended in a tng of war with the mosquitos, but soon we saw them depart one by one to the hospital with heart trouble. We then enjoyed a race down to the brick kiln to quench our thirst. Some of the members mem-bers enjoyed a ride in Mr. Gardner's Gard-ner's new automobile (The wheel-brrrow.) wheel-brrrow.) About dark we all piled into the buggy again and began our journey homeward, singing club and school songs. This, however how-ever did not end our fun. After arriving in Hinckley we serenad- . ed the people for a time and then adjourned to the Relief Society lawn where many games were enjoyed on the grass, after which a midnight chicken supper was served. With manv sighs and lamentations lamen-tations to think that a day so happily spent was at a close, we all departed, wishing that such events would come often. This is but one of the many enjoyable en-joyable times we have had this summer. We have our meetings each week and each member of the swarm also takes her turn at entertaining the rest of the members, mem-bers, at some kind of a party. We pride ourselves on having been the first swarm to organize, hold a meeting, take part in a public function and first to take a hike. "Our lives are albums written thru, with good or ill, with false or true; And as the blessed Angels turn the pages of our yeara; God grant they read the good with smiles, and blot the bad with tears. Hinckley Bees Swarm Last Thursday the Clover Blossom Swarm of the Bee Hive Girls from Hinckley enjoyed a trip to the reservoier and grove. The swarm consisted of Lois Blake as bee keeper, Carrie Wright as assistant bee keeper, Zella Pratt, Ila Anderson, Stella Wright, Mina Wright Etta Mech-am Mech-am and Maud Badger as regular members. There are other members mem-bers who is appears are not awake enough to discover what we are up to, but we hope they will soon not only enjoy hearing what we have done but will themselves, them-selves, participate in the same. About 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon after-noon this noisy but jolly bunch of girls left the shady streets of Hinckley, chaperoned by Geo. W. Wtight. We were jammed in a large open buggy like oysters in a can, but never mind, we were all there and reached our destination in safety, although some of the girls experienced a roll in the dust. The afternoon was spent in playing games, fishing and dance-ing. dance-ing. While there the swarm was invited to sing for the Alfalfa Al-falfa Sunday School which was also enjoying the afternoon in the grove. We, as well as they, enjoyed the singing of some old familiar songs. Later in the evening, the hungry hun-gry but never weary bunch gathered gath-ered in u shady nook in the grove where the most delicious eatables which could be obtained were brot forth. The necessary cooking cook-ing was done over a camp fire and then we enjoyed the most |
