Dr. Ackley has just received word from the chief surgeon of the Salt Lake Route at Los Angeles that he has been ap pointed Asst. surgeon for this territory for the company. Water has been turned out of the canals of the Delta Land & Water Co. and Melville Irrigation Irriga-tion Co. after furnishing water ; to settlers for two months and six days after the season closed. The students of the Domestic Science and Agricultural classes of the Millard Academy, attended attend-ed the sessions of the Round-up at Delta on Tuesday last, remaining re-maining for the dance at night. The Holden Dramatic Co. held the boards down at the Delta Opera House last Wednesday in a 4-act play entitled "A daugh ter of The Desert". The Hinckley Academy Dramatic Dra-matic club is prepairing to put on the play "College Chums" for the theater goers of the Delta Del-ta country and will stage it at Deseret next Monday night, al the Academy Tuesday night and at Delta the coming Wednesday night. P. L. lirunson, who has e farm at Abraham, was in towr Sunday from the mountains near Blackrock where he has been working a copper prospect. Mr. Hrunson says they have some bright copper prospects in thai vicinity and expects to makf some money from his claim. Mrs. Greenwood, daughter ol Mr. and Mrs. James Melville, who is in a Salt Lake hospita following a serious operation, it reported improving nicely anc in a good way to regain permanent perma-nent health. Her affliction hat been a complication of ailments following an auto accident aboui a year ago. We understand that parties from Kaysville are negotiating for a site at Sugarville on which to erect a 50-barrel flour mill. Also that there are others look-ing look-ing into the matter of starting stores at the new town. These things augur well for our neighboring neigh-boring town and indicate thai ere long Sugarville will be 1 flourishing town. II. F. Aller has taken tht agency for the Mutual Creamerj Co. and will have a testing station sta-tion in the small building jusi north of the office where the company has installed a testinp plant. Mr. Ed Pearson will be in the Delta State Bank during the ; holidays while Mr. Beckwitl takes his vacation in Salt Lake City.
