Show Academy Notes A white crusher hat with a narrow pale bbe ribbon band has been selected by the Freshmen Fresh-men class' as their class mark of distinction. We must say we like their taste for the hats look "classy" both for the boys and for the girls. The Academy Dramatic Club has an interesting play well under un-der way and we shall soon see the histrionic art ably illustrated on vour own stage and perhaps on some of the platforms in our neighboring towns. Miss Cook, of the Faculty, ha3 returned from the Dance Convention Con-vention in Salt Lake City and is now giving a dancing class twice each week to the students. Not only are the new standard dances being taught but ball room etiquette and dance management man-agement are being carefully considered con-sidered also. It is strongly to be Imped that this movement will be taken up by those who have dances in charge in the various social centers of our county that our dances may be brought to a higher cultural standard. Thp vacum trap recently purchased pur-chased by the Academy Board has been installed by T. Geo. Theobald and Prof. Howells, and it seems to be working perfectly. The gasoline engine that supplies water for the building is alsc being put in better condition and we can now hope to have the Academy better heated and more convenient than ever before. be-fore. The Senior class will soon install a drinking fouutain in the main hall. President Ceo. H. Brimhall, of the Brigham Young University, has promised to come down and give a special lecture to the students stud-ents of the Academy. The date of his coining has not yet been definitely fixed but notice will be given in due time and it is to be hoped that as many of our . friends as are within reach will ' be present to hear him, |
