A double tragedy that has shocked the community occurred oc-curred Saturday night at .Minidoka, a small village si. me lil'Uen miles from Rupert, when T. W. H. No son, a prominent iiud wealthy merchant of Rupert, shot and kiile.d Mrs. Nellie M. Pittenger, also of Rupert, afterwards after-wards turning the gun upon himself with fatal effect. Mrs. Pittenger had refused to marry Nelson. Nelson was about 62 years of age. with a Urge family of grown children, lie owned a large hardware and furniture fur-niture store iu Rupert and another in Pearl, lie was interested iu two banks in I'tah and other enterprises. He has always been regarded as a level-headed business man and was highly respected.
