Show THOMAS HOOK DIED THURSD'Y Thomas Hook of this city, died ' Thursday, February 18th, at 7 vu ' after suffering one year with Brights desease and other complications, which had confin- j ea him to his bed for eight month t. The Death Angle came S'ving him relief from hissuffer-lngs hissuffer-lngs in the presence of his wife and children and a number of ms intimate friends, beckoning mm to a brighter shore, where the ravages of desease and earthly earth-ly troubles are not known. He had lived such a life that he was ready to meet the Master of all things willingly and uncomplainingly; uncomplain-ingly; he had realized that there was no chance for his recovery sometime ago, yet he had re- ( mained cheerful to the last, in . i the thought that all would be , well over there. t Thomas Hook was born at : Tooele, Jan. 22nd, 1868, where he grew to manhood: in the year ( 1896 he was united in marriage . to Miss Eliza Smith of that city, 1 and to this union three daughters were born. In the year 1904 with his family he moved to ' Canada, returning in 1906 and locating at Holden. He was one ' of the first to locate on the Mel- ' ville project in the year 1908, 1 after assisting in the work of 1 constructing the Uba dam the two years before. The deceased was a gentleman : in every sense that term would : imply; he was industrious, per- 1 severing; honest with himself ' and his fellowmen; he was ' prompt in meeting his obligations 1 at all times; had a kind word of ' cheer for everyone; provided well for his family and was held in the highest esteem by all ac- 1 quaintances. 1 Mr. Hook had professed Christ- ' ianity when a mere boy and had : lived as a faithful, consistent 1 Christian to the last, and was a member of the Church of the Delta Ward. He leaves behind to mourn his departure his wife, three daughters and five sisters, ! besides many friends and neighbors. neigh-bors. ' Funeral services occured at the 1 Ward hall, Saturday at 2 o'clock 1 p.m., the speakers were Abra- JiamS. Workman, Jr., Levi . H. '' McCullough, Mell Workman and 1 Edgar Jeffery, all of whom spoke 1 in the highest terms of the de- ' ceased and offered comforting 1 words to the bereaved wife and ' children.
