Show Speech Festival Held In Hinckley Tuesday The Hinckley MIA speech festival fest-ival was held Tuesday evening in the Hinckley ward chapel. Dialect poems were given by Gail Taylor, Beatrice Taylor, Donna Rae Judd, and Manda Lee Stevens. The Junior Jun-ior girls, under the direction o class leader, Valeda Hilton, gave a choral reading. Mrs. Lyle Bunker gave two numbers on her marim-baphone. marim-baphone. Mrs. Margaret Jensen then read the 1-act play, "Where the Cross is Made," by Eugene O'Neil. This was a very outstanding piece. The display of splendid talent and of hard work made the festival a success. suc-cess. The program was in c harge of Mary Reeve and John Barton, the speech directors. Next Tuesday evening a dance festival will be held in the HHS gym, under the direction of Helen Cox. Special numbers have been arranged. After the festival a formal for-mal dance will be held. This program pro-gram concludes the year's work in Mutual. Pres. De Lois Robins gave citations cards to all ward officers of-ficers and teachers Tuesday evening. |
