Show Lynndyl Enters Five Queens in Contest Thursday, May 10, a 7th War Loan Bond queen rally was held on "Time Square." The Delta band furnished the music, and the following fol-lowing program was held, with Roy Clark, Master of Ceremonies: Presentation of colors, Boy Socuts Prayer, Clead- Nielson Community Singing Address, C. E. Freer (Value of Bond Buying.) Song, Joann Johnsen, Mignen Sheriff. Sher-iff. Address, Captain Freddie Banks (Battle of Bougainville) Band selections ' Jokes, Sol Angel Song, Betty and Waivie Roundy Violin solo, Louis Woodbury Guitar and song, Irvin Whatcott Accordion solo, Eldonna Coleman Introduction of Queens, who are Frances Allen, Cloreen Johnson, Donna Ivie, Mery Johnson, Betty Roundy Prayer, Alma Banks Band selection. Mrs. C. E. Freer is chairman of the drive. Hitler was hung on a pole and burned. Many useful and hard-to-get articles were auctioned off for the bonds to the amout of $4425. The Boy Scouts sold hot dogs and ice cream. In stpite of a drizzling rain a large crowd attended and it was a total success. Thanks are due to Roy Clark, who gave much of his time and hard work. According to Orran Ashby the drive is going well to date and that with the aid of workers lined up it is hoped to meet this huge quota. quo-ta. Money is not too plentiful in the spring of the year around here, but by delving into various socks and hiding places there is little question about reaching the quota. |
