Show Four Hundred Reservations for Ward Birthday Final Plans Being Made By Committee; Record Crowd Will Attend Fourteen tables 32 feet long are being made in readiness for the banquet Friday night in the Delta High school gym to accommodate the record crowd expected to attend at-tend the First Ward Birthday party to raise funds for a new building. According to Dr. M. E. Bird, chairman, chair-man, the response of the people has been most gratifying in this occasion. The festivities Friday night will begin with a picture show at 7:30 which is in the nature N of educational educa-tional news reels. The banquet hour has been set at 8:30 with a program along with the banquet. Following the banquet there will be a large dance which will be held either in the gym or possibly moved to the Delta Hall to take care of the people. Three orchestras orches-tras have been obtained for the evening. The Oak City, Losse and Stake orchestras will play a varied dance program featuring old fashioned fash-ioned and modern dance numbers. The charge for the evening entertainment en-tertainment has been at $2.00 a person, and because- of the record crowd even children planning to attend will be charged this same rate. The purpose of the party is to raise funds for a new First Ward building which will be started as soon as materials are available which may be after the war. The committee in charge reminds re-minds you to make your reservations reserva-tions early because they are going so rapidly it may be possible extra tables and room will have to be made ready to handle this large assemblage. |
