Show Delta Garden Club Has Program Night At their meeting on Friday night the CJarrb'n Club had a program pro-gram of speakers, all successful and exeprienced gardeners from ak City. They were Mel Roper, Mis. Frankie Finlinson, and Verl Jacobson, who gave talks on garden gard-en problems and heilpful hints for the members. A recipe for building a rence has been contributed to the club by Mrs. Ruth Searle. Directions are: 1. Material needed, one meat saw, one hammer, to be used whether the head keeps flying off or not, a few nails of which the supply is low, and one old chicken coop to be torn down. 2. Tear the coop apart and take the boards over to Mont Works, who, between moans and groans, will fix them up for you. 3. Get some cold water paint, and if you can't get that just mix your own with Del Dessa and water. 4. The worst part of the whole deal is getting the riot holes dug. Mrs. Searle had difficulty diffi-culty in getting Del to use anything any-thing else but a meat saw in digging dig-ging the boles. Place the posts therein, and if they won't sit up straight, prop them with a kitchen chair while you nail on the fence, n. The whole cost of the fence was $2.50. Mrs. Searle now has one lattice fence, a trellis with Virginia Vir-ginia creeper, and a little left over for the back porch. The size of the fence will depend upon the size of the coop you start with. |
