Show Mrs.. Carrie Black's Mother Dies in Scipio Death has taken one of the oldest old-est residents of Scipio in the passing pass-ing of Margaret (Maggie) Muir Hatch, on May 14. She was the daughter of William S. and Jean Robb Muir, and was horn June 17, 1863 in Salt Lake Citv in the old mansion at Liberty Park. She married William I. Hatch Jan. 12, 1882. He died in 1919. She lived in Bountiful until 1885 when they moved to Scipio. Mrs. Hatch has lived a life of service to the community and to the L D S church. Worked in the Relief Society, Sunday school, YL MIA, Primary and religion classes. She was an active temple worker and a member of the DUP. She was president of the Millard stake YL MIA for 12 years. She was the mother of ten children, child-ren, eight survive her and are Frank S. Hatch, Marvin M. Hatch, and Mrs. Jean Hatch Allbrand of Scipio; Mrs. Carrie Hatch Black, of Delta; Mrs. Edith Hatch Elkins and Mrs. Ruth Hatch Crouch of Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Elizabeth H. Hibber, of Bountiful. A brother, Leo J. Muir, Los Angeles; a sister, Mrs. Marie Price, Salt Lake City; 31 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in the Scipio ward hall. |
