Jenson, "i. quarter master third class, was '. : honorably discharged from the - riavy this week at the Bainbridge separation center. He is the son of George W. Jenson, RFD, Delta, Utah. ' In the navy for thirty-six months Jenson served twenty of them over seas aboard the heavy cruiser USS New Orleans. He wears the American Ameri-can and Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbons and the Philippine liberation libera-tion bar. Jenson plans to attend college. Lt. (j.g.) LaMont L. Bennett, of Deseret, Utah has been discharged from the navy at the Personnel separation center in San Francisco, California. Pfc. La Vee Peterson was discharged dis-charged Monday at the Fort Douglas Doug-las separation center. He arrived in Delta Monday and went to Cedar Ced-ar City on Tuesday, where he will join his wife. SSgt. Walter Eldon Bowley wrote his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Rowley of Oasis, that after 2 operations and 2 months in the hospital, he was back at his company com-pany feeling fine. But he didn't sleep worth a darn. The blankets itched and the bed was hard after spending 2 months on soft beds with sheets. Howard Day, USN, stopped over in Delta to spend Mother's Day at home. He left Monday for Shoemaker, Shoe-maker, California, where he will be discharged from the navy. Melvin Beckstead, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Beckstead. has returned to Delta with his discharge from the service. He had served 18 months in the coast guard as carpenter car-penter 3c. Melvin was home two months ago on leave for a family reunion. After his return he made a trip to Japan and soon after he ' v"'arne back, he received his release. , ?Sgt. and Mrs. Dale Tolbert are ' visiting in Delta this week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frances Tolbert, of Delta, and Mr. and Mrs. William Overson of Sugarville. Sgt. Tolbert is on furlough from Camp Cantpbell, Kentucky. . ..Seaman 2c Jay Cahoon son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cahoon is now home on shore leave. He has been in training at the San Diego Naval Base, where he will return I on May 22 for further assignment. Jay is one of the graduates of the Hinckley High School for this year. Sgt. Mlrlene Moody, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Moody ol Hinckley ,who is stationed in New York City at the Halloran General Hospital. She reports again foi duty on May 23 at the same station. sta-tion. Ensign Calvin T. Webb, son ol Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Webb of Hinckley Hinck-ley is now home on leave. He sailed sail-ed from San Pedro Calif, to Honolulu: Hon-olulu: from there to Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan. After leaving leav-ing there he returned to San Francisco, Fran-cisco, where he will report agair in the near future. Capt. William Ervin Stratton, sor of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stratton ol Hinckley, has spent four and one half years in service in the U. S Armv and was released on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, May 8 at Fort Douglas Cantain Stratton was in Texa; training for two years and ha: snent two years in Germany. H( fought for a distance of 80 miles ir Germany and was vdth the groui that crossed the Ella River, ha ing to swim to cross back becaus the bridge was burned after the; crossed. |
