Show Many Buyers Plan Purchasing Fat Beef; No Points Except for Beef The Thirteenth Annual Millard County Junior Livestock Show is in full swing at the present writing. Almost 140 fat beef animals have been entered as well as many hoes and sheep. The show is at tiie Dewey Sanford stock yards and is open to the public free of rh-irge. The judging started off this morning with the hogs followed by the sheep, and finally the cattle, both fat stock, breeding stock and dairy cattle. The stock on exhibition at the show is also being judged for its individual excellence, although none of if is for sale. This particular parti-cular stock was bought at both the Denver and Ogden shows by cattlemen of Millard County. The banquet will be held tonight in the Delta High school with Governor Gov-ernor Herbert B. Maw as the principal prin-cipal speaker. Exhibitors automatically automa-tically get tickets at the banquet on payment of their entrance fee; others will pay the regular charge. An exceptionally large crowd is expected ex-pected there consisting of loca', and state officials. Special guests of honor will be the Millard County Coun-ty Commissioners and the Millard " County Board of Education for their help in sponsoring the show. The sale will begin Friday morning morn-ing with Col. Adams as the auctioneer. auc-tioneer. Many buyers are expected this year as everyone contacted on by the committee on their recent trip north expressed that they especially wanted to make the show. Ration points are unnecessary unneces-sary for all buying with the exception ex-ception of beef, so that good sales are expected in those lines. The OPA clarified the issue by ruling that farmers could buy beef without with-out ration points and that they could loan up to 400 pounds of this beef to others. Of course, regular buyers for firms who intend to retail re-tail the meat will not have to put up ration points. |
