Melville Bishop Last Saturday was, the 88th birthday of Mrs. Ann E. Melville Mel-ville Bishop, Delta's first and oldest pioneer woman. On Friday the Ann E. Melville Bishop Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Pio-neers called at the home and held their regular meeting there. A program was presented by the members and a special tribute was paid to Mrs. Bishop. They also presented her with a potted plant. Saturday the Lark Class of the Second Ward Primary, under the leadership of Mrs. Clora Twitch-ell, Twitch-ell, called at the home and also presented a program and their felicitations. On both Saturday and Sunday friends of Mrs. Bishop called to wish her a happy birthday. Mrs. Bishop, despite her age, is very active and in good health She had a slight illness during the winter that has cleared up with the warmer weather. We join her many friends in offering our best wishes for her continued health and long life. |
