Show Delta Market Milk Rates PUS Honor Roll Four Utah cities, Delta, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Provo, have been placed on the safe milk "honor "hon-or roll" of the U. S. Public Health Service. Delta is the first of the smaller cities in Utah to have received re-ceived this rating. Across the nation nat-ion the honor roll includes 160 cities and counties. Those on the honor roll were singled out because their total mar ket milk supply rates 90 or more on the basis of grade A sanitary requirements of PHS recommended recommend-ed milk rules. The rating will be published in bulletins issued from Washington, D. C, four times a year and circulated circul-ated nationally. A point of value is that travellers, such as those through Delta on U. S. Highway No. Six, can readily ascertain the city milk rating from the bulletins. The survey for the rating was made last fall, when officials inspected in-spected the Sunrise Dairy at Delta, owned and operated by Clair F. Gardner, and the three producer dairies of Wallace Jefffery, Alma Christensen and Arthur Jensen. The actual figures of the report on the Delta milk supply were: Percentage of milk pasteurized, 100; raw to plant milk rating, 93.82; pasteurization plants rating, rat-ing, 91.88; pasteurized milk rating, rat-ing, 92.53; enforced method rating, rat-ing, 91. Comment was that the rat ing received is "commendable". |
