Show Legumes, Grasses and Cereals Used for Silage The term grass silage now includes in-cludes all ensiled crops except corn and the sorgos and is different from them in that special precautions must be taken upon ensiling for the best preservation. Grass silage may be made successfully suc-cessfully from many crops. Legumes, Le-gumes, such as alfalfa, clovers, soybeans, soy-beans, lespedeza and peas; cereals, such as oats, wheat, rye and barley; grasses, such as timothy, sudan grass, canary grass, brome grass and orchard grass, and mixtures of these crops.
