Mr. and Mrs. Sank Pace, from Ely, joined them here last week for a short visit. Mr and Mrs. Carl Townsend left Delta Monday morning for Califo-rnia, where they will visit in Los Angeles and nearby. Reuben Stephenson, from Levan, soent the past weekend in Delta, visiting his sister-in-la- Mrs. Luc-ille Stephenson, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dekker A. Dekker, and their grarfdson, Walter Stone-lon- g went to Salt Lake City last week for a visit of several days and a vacation treat for Walter. Their return has been delayed, as Walter broke out with the measles while there, and they are quaranti-ned at the hotel. Frank Beckwith Sr. addressed a District Meeting of Boy Scouts at a camp fire ' assembly In Shingle Creek Canyon (branch of Clear Creek Canyon) Friday night, and Saturday showed the Boys and Boy Scout leaders the many glyphs there, and recited Indian legends on several groups. The District comprised two wards from Rich field, one each from Monroe, and adjoining towns, maki-ng six groups in all. Rex Clandge, who attended high school in Tooele all winter, is spending the summer in Delta with his father, Tass Claridge. n J?nHamilt0n' now several years years old, returned to Del- - ll S Friday' and intends to spend the summer here. He has been in Parowan. Miss Mary Peterson, from Salt dnv6in spent Saturday and Wanda 2elta Wlth her ster, Mrs. Beckwith. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Kelly, from Fresno California, arrived last week for a visit in Oasis with Mrs. Biah Sjostrom and Oscar Kelly and families. They had been in Sun valley, to a seed men's convention and returning to California. Mrs. Nettie Stoneking left Sun-da- y to return to her home at Roos-evelt, after a visit of a month in Delta with her son and family Mr and Mrs. Ralph Stoneking. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lisonbee and children, from Salt Lake City, visit- ed in Delta with their mother, Mrs. Delia Lisonbee, over the weekend. Sterling Vance and son, Steve were Delta visitors a week ago' and when they returned to Los Angeles, his sister-in-la- Mrs. Or-en- a Nelson and niece, Margene Johnson, made the trip to Calif-ornia with them. They visited there through the week with Mrs. Laura Johnson, and Mrs. Vance, Mrs. La Preal Ogden and Mrs. Helen Melton and families, and re-turned to Delta Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Melton have a new son, born May 21 Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Allred, and children, Lawrene and Dee, from Salt Lake City, spent Sunday visit-ing members of their families in Delta. Their mother, Mrs. Roy All-re- d, was with them. They visited their grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Langston, in Lynndyl, and their grandfather, Mr. Johnson, in Hold-e- n, who is now 92 years old. Miss Carol Hansen, who spent the winter at the BYU, left Mon-day for Salt Lake City, after a few days at home with her par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen. She will be employed during the summer in Salt Lake City. Her sister, Miss Ruth Hansen, also left this week to attend summer school at the BYU. Miss Elma Terry, from the BYU, is in Delta this week with her par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. David Terry. 'th ' ad To Be Wed In Logan Temple Ml's- A. L. Embry announces the marriage of her daughter, Leora, to Sterling Hamilton Bennion, June 11, 11948 in the Logan temple. A re-ception will be held from 7:30 to 11 p. m. in the 10th Ward amuse-ment hall. Both young people are students at the USAC and will attend school ;in the fall, after a trip through Southern Utah Parks, they will spend the summer in Delta on their farm. Couple Wed In Manti Temple The Manti Temple, June 2nd, was the scene of a double-rin- g cere-mony uniting Winnifred Olsen and .Francis L Anderson. President L. R. Anderson officiated. Tiie bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel K. Olsen of Eph-rai-and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Ellis Anderson, of Oak City, Utah. A wedding breakfast was served to twenty-si- x at the Olsen home following the rites after which the couple left for a honeymoon trip. On their re-turn they will be honored with a wedding dance at Oak City, June 26. The couple have been attending jSnow college and have been in music circles. They gradu-ated May 20. Miss Olsen is secre-tary of the West Ward Sunday School and Mr. Anderson President of the A shower was given the past week in the Ladies' Club rooms by friends of the bride. A wedding reception and dance to honor the young couple will be held Friday night, June 11, in the Sutherland ward chapel Wedding Vows Taken in Manti On Wednesday, June 9, Miss Myr-len- e Moody, daughter of Bryant Moody, of Hinckley, and Wayne Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Turner, of Sutherland, were mar-ried in the Manti Temple. Air Force last week, and went to San Antonio, Texas, for basic training. They are Arvon Day, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Day, of Delta, and George Allen Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fran-cis Thomas, of Delta. Interested in the opportunity and benefits through the army school-ing and training, they enlisted for a period of 3 years through the Recruiting Station in Delta. Honor Departing Missionary Elder Richard L. Finlinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Finlinson of Oak City, will leave for the Mission Home June 21, before filling a mis-sion 'in the Netherlands. He will be honored at a farewell dancing party Saturday, June 12 at the Oak City Amusement hall. Eld.er Finlinson graduated at the Delta high school. He has been living at Spanish Fork with Dr. and Mrs. Milo Moody, and attending the Brigham Young University for the past two years. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bliss and Mrs. Lawrence Nelson and daugh- ter from Salt Lake City, spent the weekend in Delta, visiting their sisters, Mrs. Wilford Warnick: and Mrs Bob Robinson and families. Young Couple To Make Home In Oak City The wedding of Miss Eldonna Coleman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Coleman, of Lynndyl, and Junius Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson, of Oak City, took place in the Manti temple, May 14. The parents of both young people, accompanied them ito Man-ti. Saturday, May 22, a dance and reception was given in their hon-or by Mr. and Mrs. William Cole-man in the Lynndyl Ward. A program was given as follows: A reading by Marie Alread, of Lehi; a trio, Colleen Nielson, Jean nette Overson and Donna Sheriff; song, Joyce Terry. Dancing was en-joyed and the bride was lovely in a white beaded satin wedding gown and orchid corsage. Many very beautiful and useful gifts were received A reception was held at the Cole-man home after the dance and a luncheon, including wedding cake, was served. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Perry S. Black, of Grand Junction, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Van Buran, Chicago, 111.; Mr. and Mrs. Harris Simmonsen, Price, Utah; Marie Alread, of Lehi, Beth Bunker, of Hinckley; Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Coleman, Provo,. Mr and Mrs. Ford Coleman, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Elden Coleman, of Helper. Miss Coleman is a graduate of Delta High School and attended the B. Y. U., in Provo. She is an accomplished musician and has been very generous and willing to help in both school and church programs. Mr. Anderson graduated from the Delta High School and attended BAC college for one year and spent two years in the service. The young couple will make their home in Oak City. 4-- 11 Club Meets The Fashion Followers 4-- Club met at the home of their teacher, Ora Mae Bishop, Tuesday, at 2 o'clock, to get organized and nom-inate officers. Those selected to lead the club were: President, Jessie Lynn Cook; Bonnie Black; sec-retary, La Rae Chesley, reporter, Elaine Gardner. Other members are Juneal Judd, Edyth Cahoon and Gevene Adams. Their other teach-er is Elizabeth Moody. The next meeting will be held at the home of Bonnie Black. |
