Show LYNNDYL Mrs. Rachel Simpson Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clark and children, Raymond and Anna Dee, went to Provo Monday and stayed over until Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Therlo Wiley went to Oasis Monday for Decoration Day. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Allen had as dinner guests, Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Gavon Wier, of Clear Lake, jMr. and Mrs. Dick Hayes, Mr. and Mrs. Weir returned home Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Don Lawsen and three children, of Scipio, are weekend week-end guests at the Jim Smith home and enjoyed the dance given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brad-field Brad-field in Leamington Saturday night. Varley Dutson, who is employed in Provo, spent Sunday visiting friends fri-ends here. Mr. and Mrs Junius Anderson, of Oak City, were guests at the William Wil-liam Coleman home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Roundy spent Decoration Day in Escalante. Friday afternoon, Mrs. Frances Hayes, Norma Majers, Rachel Simpson, Simp-son, Janeane Simpson, Nancy Lynn Majers and Ruby Allen, honored Mrs. Effie Allen on her birthday. Many beautiful gifts were received and birthday cake and ice cream were served. Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lovell and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hayes, went to the shower for the Floyd Bradfield's in Leamington, and enjoyed an oyster supper after at the Hayes home. Mrs. Bill Simpson and small daughter, Paula, spent Friday in Oak City, with her mother, Mrs. Leland Roper and sister, Theo Stewart and baby. Mrs. Rachel Simpson received word from Inglewood, California, that her grandson, Gary Thompson, had been in the hospital, as the result of an automobile accident, but is now home and recovering sldwly . v Mr. and Mrs. Royal Terry and children and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Gronning, spent a pleasant day, Sunday, in the canyon. Jerry Nielson drove down from Idaho, where they have .some cabins, cab-ins, and took his two children back with him. Susie and Wardel finished fin-ished school here. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Vest spent a few days in Milford, with Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Gronning and children. Mrs. Rachel Simpson and grandson, grand-son, Neil, will go to Caliente Wednesday, Wed-nesday, for a few days visit, with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Timly and his brother, Johnny. Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Johnson, of Provo, were weekend visitors and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Larsen. Mrs. Ruth Abeglen went back with them to attend summer school at the B. Y. U. Mr. John Neilson passed away in Ely, Nevada at the home of his daughter, Mary. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nielson were with him at the time. The funeral was held in Pleasant Grove and those who attended from here were: Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lew-is Woodbury, Mary Johnson, Rhea Whatcott, Bishop and Mrs. Clead Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Great-house, Great-house, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Great-house Great-house of Delta, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony An-thony Stephenson, of Delta Mrs. Mary Johnson spent Thursday Thurs-day in Salt Lake City, with her daughter, Clorean Johnson. Jeannette Overson went to Salt Lake City for a visit with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Gronning visited here this week with Mr. and Mrs. Myron Vest. Ray Atkins went to California to attend graduation exercises of his niece. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clark and children, were Provo visitors Tuesday. Carl Ivie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Ivie, who was injured by falling off a tank, is returning to the LDS hospital for further treatment.. treat-ment.. Mr. and Mrs. Ernal Johnson and family, drove to Emery county to decorate her mother's grave. Mrs. Alma Broderick and Mrs. Eva Johnson's John-son's grandmother is here visiting. Sunday afternoon Mrs. Dick Hayes and small daughter, Linda, and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lovell, enjoyed a lunch in the canyon and then went to the show in Delta in the evening. Harold Ivie came home from Salt Lake and spent a day visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Jer-ome Ivie. He is employed in Salt Lake City. The Monday Home Makers held their first meeting Monday, June 7. They chose Lucille Nielson as their teacher. The members of the class are as follows: Mary Beth Roper, president; La Rae Great-hote, Great-hote, secretary; Cristie Nielson, vice-president; Marilyn Hayes, club reporter; Jo Ann Angel, song leader. lead-er. The first meeting was held at the home of Lucille Nielson The girls chose sewing and are working work-ing on dish towels and table cloths. Refreshments were served, after which they enjoyed swimming swim-ming and had an enjoyable afternoon. after-noon. The 4-H First and Second year sewing classes were held at the home of their leader, Alpha Nielson, Niel-son, Friday, June 4. Stitcherettes was the name chosen for their club. The following officers were elected- President, Lugene Roper; reporter, Eloise Aitkins; cheer lead-' er, Annette Smith; program committee, com-mittee, Myrna Coleman. The mothers mo-thers were honored guests. After light refreshments the leader took the girls swimming. Mrs. Charley Smith had a Ceaser-ian Ceaser-ian birth in the Cedar City hospital. She is doing very well and there is a chance that the baby will live. |
