Show Loses Left Hand In Explosion Bruce Little was injured Thursday, Thurs-day, about 11-30 a. m., at the rock quarry in Leamington canyon, when dynamite caps exploded and blew off his left hand. He was rushed to the hospital in Payson for surgery, and it was necessary to amputate the hand just above the wrist. He was also treated for minor cuts on his right hand and left leg. Bruce was setting off some dynamite, dy-namite, and had 3 or 4 caps in his left hand, and thought that as he turned away he must have brushed the caps against the lighted light-ed fuse. It was the only way he could account for the explosion. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wind, had just registered at the Lions' convention in St. George, when word reached them of the accident. They went at once to Payson, and stayed with Bruce until Sunday night. He is making a good recovery and expects to be able to return to Delta by the end of this week. |
