Show GRAND OPERA Monday Date For fligolctto Monday, March 15, a matinee at 2 for students, and an evening performance per-formance at 8 p. m., provides an opportunity for west Millard to attend at-tend "Rigoletto", Verdi's famous opera. The opera is being brought here from the BAC, under the direction dir-ection of Prof. William H. Manning, Man-ning, following their opening in Cedar City on March 11. "Rigoletto" is one of the most intense musical dramas written, and months of rehearsals have perfected per-fected the Cedar City cast in their roles,, so that the public may look forward to a splendid production. The story tells of Rigoletto, a hunchback, and favorite of the unprincipled un-principled Duke of Mantua. The duke seduces the beautiful Gilda, daughter of Rigoletto, who sacra-fices sacra-fices her life to frustrate her father's fath-er's revenge. Tickets are still available, at Baker Pharmacy and Service Drug, for the performance in the DHS auditorium, at $1 each. Now don't let the man of the house squirm and wriggle at the mention of grand opera, and get ideas of staying away from this performance. "Rigoletto has been a favored opera since it was written writ-ten and presented first in Venice in 1851. The music was composed by Guiseppe Verdi, and ranks among the most melodious of operatic scores. The famous aria "How Fickle Fick-le Women Are" is loved throughout the world. You will enjoy being in the audience on Monday night. |
