Show STRIKE THREATS BY MINERS AT TINTIC Salt Lake, July 17. A letter received re-ceived yesterday by tho stato Indus-trial Indus-trial commission from Hensen NIel-son, NIel-son, secretary of the Tlntlc District Miners' union, No. 151, says thatl trouble may result If the mine owners own-ers of tho district- do not arrange for a conference with a committee of tholr employes relative to a number of alleged grievances. Mr. NIelson states the union asked mine owners to fix a date for a meeting meet-ing with representatives of the workers, work-ers, and that only one acknowledgment acknowledg-ment wns received. It was from a mlno superintendent, who said he hod referred tho matter to the manager man-ager of his compan). The owners recently granted to 50-cent Increase In wages. Complaint Is also made that the workers aBked itho mlno officials to confer with them relatlvo to the rustling card. and tho officials only talked to two Individual miners. Tho union requests that William Knerr of tho commission ascertain If tho mlno owners of tho Tlntlc district dis-trict aro willing to confer with a committee of employes. Mr. Knerr forwarded a copy of the lettor to Walter Fitch, general manager of tho Cbl ef Cojisolldater Mining company.! |
