H This was a tostl) think' and one of the Ht mostattinctietuiiioutsluthepatade. B(f, This lloatalso carded atcptcsentatlon l of one of the Thatcher Music Co.'s VmVmVM I line ilanos. Two othet turnouts of this eompaii) adertlsed theli machines ma-chines and pianos. The Thatchers showed a spirit of enterpilsc that was truly commendable. The Luiidstrum Furniture & Cat pet Co.'s windows and lloat were also ciy excellent. Their windows wcie dressed inostaitistlcall) lured andOiltc with gate at back, bearing abovo the Inset In-set I pt ion "Wo open our nates to the U. C. T." This oik Is really artistic, very dainty and was tho subject of much pleasant comment. Their lloat which tied with another for llrst prio represented a tooiu furnished with the goods the Hint canies. This was als well gotten up. The Olty Shoe Stoic had a good lloat repicsentatiou of a well-oideied exclusive ex-clusive shoe stoie.llansuu did himself pioud In this as did Howell & Claw, foul's establishment. Thelis was a double lloat, one side advertising their clothing and containing a laige number num-ber of suits attracts elydlsplajcd -and the othci telling to the world that the "Dorothy Ootid shoe" is the best on earth. This was largely John Chrlst-ensen's Chrlst-ensen's Idea-and the) are alw;i)s good. The Hell meat market tried to outdo the whole bunch b) picscntlng his entile en-tile butcher shop, force, halves of beees, etc., enclosed In a network of red and white. This was .certainly good, as was Ottcnhclmer's "Hub." Mr. Ottcnhclmcr, who recently secured secur-ed thellobinson Jlros, stock, leuamed the stoie "The Hub," and his display in the parade was a erj laigc hub done In the ptoper colors. This was ipiltc unique. Tho Mu i dock Cand) Kitchen had a ci) pretty little turnout lu which weie seated two little ghls.who tossed candles to the crowd. This was par-tlculaily par-tlculaily attractive to the horde of )oungsteis who followed up the turnout. turn-out. Of all things on cailli that would seem hard to displa.v, It seems that a laundry would have the gieatcstdif-llculty gieatcstdif-llculty -but the Logan Steam Laun-(lr) Laun-(lr) Mas equal to the cnieigency. Mr. Frank Hurl advertised his "fieodeliv-eiy "fieodeliv-eiy s)stem" by tho use of four ilgs each one bearing on its side one word of the phrase "Our freo delivet) s)s-tcin." s)s-tcin." This wasn't a bad ad. W. II. Weaver, of the Uummlngs Commission Company, had two little grey hoi&esto a light rig driving them Undent. The horses bore costly coverings cover-ings done in silver and gold that showed show-ed up splendidly. Skanchy ccitaliily had otic of the best ads in the paiade, though in the award of prizes he was not given even a lccommcudallon. To advertise his liitubet business he had built and furnished fur-nished complete a good-sied frame dwelling, painted nicely and displayed a sign to the clfcct that Skanchy is the pioper man to see when in need of a home. Whether the lloat was the mostattractlve It ccitaliily was most complete and unique us an ad, and cost no small sum. The Campbell & Monell Oo.'.stig was good, the fcatuic of which attracted at-tracted most attention being the driving driv-ing by Sam Whitne). With a leg and an aim gone, Sam diovc four hoiscs vlth as much ease as a man with seven arms and legs could. The city display of lights, while not extraordinarily elaborate was quite pretty and considering the fact that the oillclals are ovei loaded with woik, was very creditable. A string or In-candesents In-candesents was hung acioss Center street at Main: and on the center pole was displayed the woid "welcome" In vail-colored lights. The display was veiy good. The Kllason Sisters got a very good effect from ciepe paper, which had cv idently been tun tluough a eilmplng machine. Anyway, their windows weie very pretty. Muidock and the Itltet Drug Stoic had out a piett) display of colored lights. On the Xeilscn grocciy Iwmdows was painted an excellent cartoon of .laeh Hooper at the bat. Instead of .lack swatting the ball, the ball was doing excellent work on this popular pop-ular .salesman's eye. The Idea was excellent ex-cellent and done well. The Co-op Grocery & DiugCo. had dicssed In red and white a buggy wheel which was kept in motion by a small inotoi. They were paiticularly pioud of it and the attiactlon Is still In the window adveitlslng a certain biand of llshlng tackle. |
