Show People who think that advertising through newspapers does little or no good should ask themselves the question: ques-tion: "What other .force or means wa-s used to draw the Immense crowds to this city on June 1st?" The answer an-swer must be "none." The people who came to Logan went home perfectly satisfied with what had been tepre-sented tepre-sented In the press. The parade, ball game, music and all the other things that helped to make up the enjoyment enjoy-ment of the day was highly appreciated. appreciat-ed. The press is a potent factor In a community which ever way Its sentiments senti-ments arc expressed, and can do much for furthering the best Interests of the people. It stands every merchant in hand who expects the patronage of the people to support the local papers In preference to all others, In advertising adver-tising and every other way, for these place before the people matters of a local character calculated to build up our own commonwealth. Outside, or foreign papers, cannot be expected to do this. People who acquaint themselves them-selves witli news of the outside world to the neglect of local information arc similar to students who learn the geography geo-graphy of all outside countries and know little of their own state. The people of this county should rally around their papers and support them llrst, last and all the time. |
