Show Richmond. The Republicans of Richmond met In the city hall last Saturday at 8 p.m. Herschel Bullcn was chosen chairman and C. '.. Harris secretary. The call of the meeting was read after which the following declaration of principles were read and passed upon without any amendments being made. DROLA RATION OF I'RINCIPLES We, the Republicans of Richmond City, In convention assembled, adopt the following declaration or principles: princi-ples: 1 Wo rc-aftlrm our alleglcnce to the good old tried and true principles as set forth In tho National and State platforms of "the Republican party. 2. Tho peopleof our commonwealth arc fast beginning to realize that we have one or tho best and most productive produc-tive agricultural districts In the Western states; that wo need niaiiu-racturlng niaiiu-racturlng Industries to convert our raw materials Into manufactured articles arti-cles to supply our home markets, Instead In-stead of Importing such articles rrom agricultural districts or the East; that In order to keep our boys and girls at homo wo must provide means whereby where-by they can got lueraMvo employment. 3. That wo pledge the good people peo-ple or our giowing city, that ir elected, our officers will, so rar as practical, adopt and carry out those old principles princi-ples of tho Grand Old Party, by en-couraglng en-couraglng capital, men or experience, and men or influence to como here, and tako lio'a with us and 'ielp to build up, encourage and protect such Industries as will glvo employment to our labor, and a closer market and better prices for tho products or our farms. We declare and maintain that, BBBJ considering the amount or money col- iBBBJ lectcd by means or license and taxes jH by our city government In the past six iflBBJ years, tho present conditions or street -BBBJ crossings, sidewalks, irrlgatlngdltchcs H and streets aro an absolute disgrace to H our city council and our citizens. That we have no faith In the v uYfll Democratic, promises to control the BBB liquor traffic. Two years ago they 'bH declared for and promised rpform. )BBBj These promises arc still unfulfilled, jBBB and conditions have simply gone from H bad to worse. We are opposed to H such rlfraffe and pledgo ourselves to H properly curtail and control the sa- ; loons, or abolish them altogether. BBB 8.
