A largo and enthuiastlc ciowd of Itcpubllcans assembled in tho City Hall last Friday evening and reorganized reorgan-ized the party as follows: Chairman, C. F. Olsen; vice-chairman, Jos. C. Andersen; secretary and treasurer, Otto Llljenqulst. Executive Commlttco lip. John F. Wright, F. J. Nally, James L. Jensen, Chas Sorcnsen, Geo. F. Wright. The following wcro then named for our ticket. Mayor, A. M. lsrealsen; Marshall, Levi Curtis; Recorder, Otto Llnjenqulst; Treasurer, Miss N. E. Petersen: Justice, C. F. Olsen. Councllmen: John F. Wright four year term; C. L. Andersen, Chas. Sorensen, A. J. Allen, Thomas Baron. Notes: It took three hours time to make up the best ticket ever named In Hyrum. James L. Jensen and Henry Jensen acted as tellers. In most every case voting was done by ballot-There ballot-There never was a more peaceable and united primary held In this county. Bp. John F. Wright was first nominee nom-inee for mayor, but ho declined to run. M. II. Johnson, one of the first Republicans of Hyrum and a highly respected citizen, died at his home Thursday night. He has suffered a long time with rheumatism that settled set-tled in his head. Tho new butcher shop has now reached the top of the second story and thn roof Is being put on. It Is a credit to the business blocks or our town. Mr. Soren Hansen and ramllylert Thursday for California where they will spend the winter. Miss Lucy will spend tho winter in California. She accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Soren Hansen. Walter Llljenqulst Is afflicted with small-pox and his home Is under quarantine. The Democrats arc all looking sick since the Republican ticket was named. Mr. C. C. Shaw Is looking after "news", business In Hyrum. Two new show windows have been put In the Hyrum Co-op. |
