Show A. C of U. VICTORS I On the Local Gridiron Last Saturday. Uni- I vcrsity Team Out-classed. Score M to 0. B With all Its anogant pride, and I vainglorious boasting before the game, and unsportsmanlike playing during the game, the bunch or ball-I ball-I players misrepresent! n;; the' State B University, who came to Logan last Mm Saturday to do battle with the A. 0. BBY of U. football squad, were treated to P the most severe drubbing that could be administered. At the end of seventy minutes playing, the score stood 17 to 0 and the University crowd was the most completely de- fcatcd team that ever went off the I gridiron. - The score tells only half the tale, and docs not In any measure represent tho satisfaction on the part of the conservative, and ecstatic joy of the enthusiastic adherents of the boys from the hill. The students and B Vooters were wild with delight and BJ did all those seemingly senseless H things necessary to the proper ex- presslon of their enthusiasm, and the B entire town sympathized with them heartily. Tliat University bunch has B rubbed it In so often and In such a B galling manner that there seemed Just H reason for tho. unbounded delight and H resultant actions. H The individual players or the A. C. of U. team were carried from the Held B ' on the shoulders of enthusiastic ad-I ad-I mlrers, and In the march up through the city, there was such a din and B outpouring of derisive hoots, yells of delight, blowing or tin horns, etc., B that It seemed as if bedlam had B broken loose. The crowd stopped at B the Intersection of Main and Center .Bki streets and,- after building a huge 4flA bonfire, burned Coach Holmes, of the BP v the University, In elllgy. E. G. Pct- BJ erson delivered a funeral oration over casket containing an effigy or Holmes, J and then the cotlln and all were BJ pitched Into the llamcs. And here BJ the enthusiastic students remained BJ and sung, danced, howled, yelled, H whooped, grunted and groaned until BJ they had no more strength left, and H then departed for the college where a BJ grand ball was given. HJ Special Corretiiundvncf. BJ As to the game itself, the, 'Varsity people were beaten at every turn In J tho road in weight, team work, indl-BJ indl-BJ vldual playing they were entirely outclassed. The University sacrificed BJ some of the sympathy which is always H due a gamely dcreated team by the questionable conduct of Capt. Wade H and some other 'Varsity players. BJ Wilde, especially, deserves severe crlt-H crlt-H Icism for his attempted dirty work BJ and annoying harangue during the BJ wholo game. His unflagging spirit in BJ the face of' defeat, however, was ad-BJ ad-BJ mlrablc. The A. C. played a clean, BJ honest game and every man in the BJ team did himself proud. In the line BJ Madsen undoubtedly starred. lie BJ took care of his tackle and captured H nine out of every ten plays which Bb- came near his side. Ho deserves the Si sentiment expressed Saturday when BJ everybody agreed that ho was the BJ best all-around player that Loganjias BJ ever seen. And that means today BJ that ho is tho best player in the BJ State. Every effort should bo made BJ to retain him another year. Kirk, BJ Olsen, Gardner and Nelson with Mad- BJ sen, It is ralr to say, form as invinc- BJ Ible a line as the West can boast or. BJ Crawroidand Tuttlo made Unlver- BJ slty gains around tho end's Imposlble. BJ Cayt. Jardlno's leg lasted long enough BJ to make the first touch-down when ho BJ was substituted by Roberts, who BJ showed up well. Doremus mndo a ,HJ perfect light until he was laid out by BJ a broken collarbone and Fonn was BJ substituted. Adams made a substan- BJ tlal gain whenover called upon, while BJ Jardhie never stopped short of two or BJ three j;ards. BJ Professor Campbell has accom- BJ plislicd what everybody expected of BJ him and deserves unstinted praise. HJ Last year he coached a team which HJ never scored. So far tills year ho has BH coached a team which has never been BB scored against. BHk SOME DETAILS. jtjBVnlic 'varsity kicked to the A. C, BBj ' Adams advauclhg tlio ball twenty BB yards.
