Ogden State Journal: "At the next regular meeting nf the city council Chris Garff w III be present and address the meeting on the proposed municipal munici-pal lighting and power plant, which was referred to In the Slate Journal last week. Mayor Rrewc'r has taken an Interest In'the matter aud will introduce in-troduce Mr. Garff to the council, and it Is desired that as many taxpayers as can will attend tho meeting in order or-der that they may learn exactly what the proposition Is which Mr. Garff offers of-fers to tho council. Mr. Garff stated today to a State Journal representative that he would like to have every taxpayer Interested In the matter present in ordci that they may learn how to operate a lighting light-ing plant "which will furnish better light than they are getting now for nothing." He cited the Logan case, In which he said they were not paying anything for their lights. Residents get their homes and business houses lighted free of charge, duo to the fact that the city uses tho plant during tho day to furnish power for manufacturing manufactur-ing and other enterprises, for which It gets a good revenue. |
