Show Conference At Richmond TheJCity Council Doings; Personal Mention. UKJILMONI). .Jan. Ill The nn. mini conference of I ho V. S. ami v. L. M I. A. of llcnson Stake, was held here last Sunday. The morning meeting began at 10 a. in. in -tlie school house ami was well rit tended by oflleer.s from i' very ward in the Stake except Trenton and Cornish. The re-perls re-perls given by the president' of eHcli association was very good, and gratifying to the members of the general and Stake Board. They showed that much work had been xlone so far. For i n-statice, n-statice, in subscriptions to tho Improvement Era over the required re-quired f per eentof the church population had been secured in the Stake. The afternoon meeting was held in tli ward meeting house. This building was packed, extra chairs and benches being brought in. The speakers were P. N. Nelson, Nel-son, President of the Benson Stake 31. T. A.. E. II. Anderson and Nellie Colbrook Taylor, of the General Board of M. I. A. and both of Salt Lake. "The trend of their remarks was along the line of loyalty to themselves, the Mutual, parents and church. The singing by the ward choir was very good, solos being rendered by 3fks Hannah Christcnscn and II. S. Webb. The evening meeting closed the conferenco and this meeting, like the previous ones, was well attended. at-tended. E. II. Anderson and Mrs. Nellie Colbrook Taylor were the principal speakers. Tonight the singing was good and especially espe-cially the quartett by Miss Arella Merrill,' Hannah Christenscn, Ernest Er-nest Monson, II. S. Webb, and a solo by Mrs. A. A. Thomas. Mayor's Message. In Mayor Funk's message to the city council last week that official of-ficial goes over, the various needs (i the city, and the work alroady dope, in a plain, straightforward manner. To those who have not us yet graveled their sidewnlks, and there are but few, the mayor recommended that if they fail to comply with t'se ordinance within with-in a week or so the city will do fhe work for them at the dclin-cuent's dclin-cuent's expense.
