The Doso Ball. lruycars past the old gymnasium at the Agricultural College has been the vceno of many brilliant social assemblies, assem-blies, but none of them have ever surpassed sur-passed the function given by the Doso Sorority girls last Monday nmht. Coming as It did, right after tho recent legislative legis-lative disturbances, which gavo rise to a feeling of unrest among" tho young people at the school, it acted as a sort of settling solution and mado everybody every-body feel as if everything had not yet gone to tho "dcmnltion bow-wows." The old "gym" wore Its decorations gracefully, and tho ancient "barn'f' was scarcely recognized by oven Its friends Tho adornments were Japanesenative Japan-esenative lanterns, Hags, flowers, parasols and fans, all from the "Land of tho rising sun " There were strings of Japanese lanterns hung from the oiiitcr to the sides and alternate rows of "make believe" crysanlhemums. Uef reshments were served from booths on opposite sides of the hall by Caicier Hansen's white- robed "ll.z-men "ll.z-men " The Thatcher orchestra, seated nn a raised music stand, was concoilcd from open view by plants and flowers, and Hie approaching hall to the gymnasium was tltted up Into an ante-room with cool Conors and lots of soft seats. Ono of the largest number of guests of the year was present, and they enjoyed en-joyed themselves to tho limit. A largo number of town people went up to tho hill for tho occasion. The patronesses of tho Sorority present were Mrs G. II. Champ, Mrs. Naylorand Miss E C. Smith. Miss Leo Uoberts, Francis Smith, Hello Pratt and Florence Dec, former students stu-dents of tho college and members of the organization, came to town especially espec-ially to attend. Tho roster of this ) car's organization of Dosos, who were the hostesses Monday Mon-day night, Is M'sscs Caroline McAlls-ter, McAlls-ter, Ituby Nebekcr, Lutle Foster, Vesta and Hertlia Kerr, Nan Nlbley and Ina Stratford.
