Show PROPER PLACE FOR STAMPS. A young woman who went to tho Philadelphia central post ofllco the other day with a scaled letter in ono hand and two cents in the other mado moro than ono attempt before sho found tho window where stamps were sold. When sho succeeded she laid the letter and tho money on tho window sill and was about to do-part do-part when the salesman railed her back with the remark: "IIcio is your stamp." The girl looked puzzled puz-zled for a moment, but tho situation dawned on her at last, and sho picked up tho letter and stomp, snying, "I must put it on myself, must I?" "Suit yourself about that," replied the stamp clerk; "tho proper placo for it, however, is on tho letter." |
