A Georgian who has tho reputation reputa-tion of being n wretched shot recently recent-ly invited tho attention of his sport-i sport-i ing friends to n tnrget painted on a barn door with n bullet hole exactly in tho center of the bull's-eye. As his friends were incredulous he offered to bet n dinner on tho proposition. Upon the acceptance by one of tho friends of tho wngcr tho chap with tho supposed bad shooting cyo produced witnesses whoso orucity could not bo questioned, ques-tioned, nnd they testified that he had, indeed, accomplished tho feat. So the bet was paid. During the dinner tho loser of the wager inquired how his friend had managed to firo such nn excellent shot. "Oh!" exclaimed the latter with n smile, "I simply shot the bullet nt tho door nt a distance of S00 yards. Then I painted a target nround it." |
