Show A Pleased and Proud Father Who says that the young people of today are selfish, unap-preciative, unap-preciative, and self-centered? Certainly not the group of parents who attended the Cedar-Delta Cedar-Delta basketball game held last Thursday night, in the high school gymnasium. The parents of the ball players were honored by their sons on the team. They were given free passes to the game and all sat together in a roped off section and then just before the game started each mother received a beautiful corsage, and each father was given a boutonniere. As the parents stood to receive the flowers from their sons, it was a proud moment for all. The appreciation day was instigated by the cheerleaders, with the principal and staff at the high school assisting. To me this was a very worthwhile activity, and certainly deserves a vote of thanks to all who helped with the arrangements. I would also like to pay tribute to a fine bunch of ball players, they not only play well but I feel they have conducted themselves in a commendable manner throughout the season. Good sportsmanship, is one of the greatest attributes. To win is great but if sportsmanship is lacking then all has been in vain. Good luck to you in the finals and three cheers, for the student body who has conducted themselves in a spirited, and sportsmanlike way. Harry C. Hair |
