Show Insect control meet for area farmers Special meetings on insect control will be held for area farmers on March 10 and 11. According to Lynn Esplin, Iron County Extension Agent the first meeting will be held at the Pa rowan Public Library at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 10. The second meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the Beryl Community Center and the last meeting will lie held at the Cedar City Public Library at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11. Mr. Esplin reported that Dr. Reed Roberts, Extension Entomologist En-tomologist from Utah State University will be the guest speaker. He will discuss common insect problems associated with livestock and crop production. Included in the discussion will be the control of alfalfa weevil, mites and aphids on crops, and the control of flies, lice and grubs in livestock. If there is interest among those who attend the meetings, he will also discuss insect pest control in and around the home, including insects in stored food. Dr. Roberts is very well qualified and the information will be of interest to everyone. The meetings are open to the public without discrimination. |
