Show Homecoming Royalty named By DeAcns Worwcsd Sheri Lowe, que-:n, with her attendants Debbie DeMille and Karla Millett were selected to reign over Southern Utah State College Homecoming festivities at the anr.ual queens pag;ant ZZ- held Monday evening. ' Miss Lcwe is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Meivin Lows, Richfield, Utah. She is a junior majoring in Family Life. Her sponsor was Sima Delta Omi-cron. Omi-cron. For her talent she did a baton twirling act highlighted . by a ssgment with flaming batons. Miss DeMille, first attendant, is a freshman with an Education Educa-tion major. She was spons:red by Delta Phi Kappa and her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Dais DeMille cf Cedar City. She performed per-formed a series of dance routines, rou-tines, which varied from tap to jazz to adagio. Miss Millett was sponsored by Circle K's and is a freshman majoring in Physical Education. Educa-tion. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Veryi Millett, also of Cedar Ce-dar City. Her talent consisted of a jazz routine wihch sh? choreographed herself. Two other awards are traditionally tradi-tionally give.i to participating firls, Miss Personality and Miss Congeniality. TC.is year both titles went to one girl, Lynn Udall, from Newport Beach, Calif. Miss Personality is decided decid-ed upon by judges based upon their observations, while Miss Congeniality is selected by the candidates themselves. The contest b?gan with the evening gown competition. Here the girls were rated as to their grace and beauty, constituting 23 percent of the total. This was followed by a "dream sequence," a new concept this year. The girls were costumed to fit their favorite dream or memory and gave a brief description of that event in theif life. This segment seg-ment equalled 25 prcent of the total. Each of the eiht finalists then performed their special talent. The talent portion of the competition represented 50 percent of the scoring. Lorraine Rowley, Parowan, has been the chairman overseeing over-seeing the pageant. Judges were Amasa Stones, Paragonah; Mrs. Clair Dale Terry, Salt Lake City, and Sharon Robinson and Jacque Dunbar, Cedar City. Professor Steve Van Dyke served as Master of Ceremonies Nancl Flake, 1972 Homecoming Queen, was pageant hostess. The royalty was chosen from a roup of 16 contestants sponsored spon-sored by various campus organizations. or-ganizations. Salt Lake City; Jolyn Felix, Cedar City; Irene Alvey, Escalante; Rozan Felix, Cedar City; Pauline Washburn, Spanish Fork; Cath-y Cath-y Nichovich, Reno, Nev.; Lyn Conner, Placentia, Calif.; and Genevieve Morill, Orem. Miss Lowe and her attendants attend-ants will preside over the full week's schedule of events at SUSC. Thy, along with the pageant winners, will be presented pre-sented at the Homecoming football game halftime on Saturday. Sat-urday. 1 TO REIGN AT SUSC.
