Show Meeting slated to inform Public of n ew Health System s Agency Residents of Iron, Beaver, Washington, Garfield and Kane counties will have an opportunity to become informed about a new Health Systems Agency and to voice their opinions at a public meeting scheduled Thursday, April 8. The public meeting is one of seven being scheduled in each of the Governor's Planning Districts throughout the state. The meeting will be held at the Court House auditorium in St. George with Neal F. Christensen, Executive Director of the Five County Association of Governments Govern-ments chairing the hearings. The creation of the Health Systems Agency is based upon Public Law 93-641 and Senate Bill 45 and is responsible for health planning and development for the state. More specifically the new agency analyses data on health status and health programs, ' publishes a health systems plan and an annual implementation plan, develops activities which support plans, implements plans through technical assistance and through developmental grants to community agencies, coordinates coor-dinates activities with other planning bodies (state and local, reviews and approves each use of federal health funds), recommends recom-mends actions on each health service offered, reviews and comments to state health plan development agency on all capital expenditures and new service projects in area institutions, in-stitutions, and recommends health facilities projects to the state for funding. Every person concerned about their health needs and medical service and facilities are urged to attend the meeting. Participation and input is necessary in the creation of the Health Systems Agency, by review and comment on the application. |
