Show Jay Overton Holt, 59, Enterprise resident dies; honored at services Jay Overton Holt, 59, of Enterprise En-terprise died of a heart attack March 25. Mr. Holt was born December 31, 1916 in Enterprise to George O. and Juliette Adams Holt. He was a veteran of World War II and active in the American Legion. Most of his life he was a self-employed farmer, working some in the mines at Pioche, Nev. At the time of his death he was a member of the Enterprise Reservoir and Canal Company and an active home teacher of the LDS Church. He married Berle Bowler on April 25, 1942. The marriage was , later solomnized in the St. George Temple. He is survived by his wife Berle of Enterprise, five sons and one daughter. Robert Jay of Escalante Valley Beryl area; Ralph B. of New Castle; Kerry Lynn, George S. and Clinton Reed of Enterprise and Mrs. Samuel (Lee Anna) Gardner of Santaquin; 13 grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. Hugh E., and Camilla Robinson of Salt Lake City; Albert A and Georgia Moyle of Beryl. Funeral services were held at the Enterprise Stake Center on Saturday March 27. Speakers at the services were Sherwood Bracken and Wesley .Holt with a tribute, written by Georgia Moyle, given by Kathy Terry. Family prayer was offered by Page Bowler, invocation was by Ivin Barlow, benediction by Ferrol Tait and the dedication of the grave in the Holt Cemetery was by Henry Bowler. Military, rites were performed by the American Legion. Special musical numbers included in-cluded a selection, "Ob My Father," by the Enterrpise Ward Choir; a vocal solo, "Goin' Home," by Gary Holt; vocal solo, "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine," by Willard Humphries; a trio "Beyond the Sunset" by Guy, Gertrude Bowler and Gail Cox, and a selection, "I Need Thee Every Hour,", by the choir. |
