Show John M. Farrow, active Church Worker dies; honored at Services John Mathew Farrow 71, died May 19, 1978 at the Dixie Medical Center in St. George of Pneumonia, following a long illness. Born March 18, 1907 to John and Lucy Bradshaw Farrow. His early childhood was spent in Summit, where he attended the schools. Married Lois Lawrence November 25, 1936 in Summit; the marriage was later solomnized in the St. George Temple, Lois died August 13, 1974. John was an active member of the LDS Church all his life. He served as ward teacher, counselor in the Sunday School superintendency and as superintendent for many years. Served as Ward Clerk for nine years. He spent most of his early life working in mines, at Mammoth; Delamar, Nev.; State Line and Diamond Jim Mine in Nevada. He also spent much time as a farmer and carpenter. In November of 1974 John moved to St. George. There he met Migonette Leigh of Washington and they were married Dec. 2, 1976. Survivors include his wife, Washington, Ut; 3 daughters, Mrs. Conley (Evelyn) Adams of Hunter; Mrs. Clark (LaRae) Maxwell Max-well of Enoch, and Mrs. Val (Shirley) Williams of Bloomington, Ut. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, grand-children, 3 brothers and 4 sisters; Mrs. Florence Berry of Cedar City; Mrs. Barney (Lillian) Fotheringham of Cedar City; Mrs. Boyd (Alice) Walker of Summit; Mrs. Chester (Marie) Benson of Parowan, Lyle B. of Summit, Raymond L. of Summit and Douglas of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Funeral services were held Monday, May 22, 1978 at 1 p.m. in the Summit LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Frank Dalley conducting. The family prayer was offered of-fered by Douglas Farrow with Shirley Jones playing the prelude, postlude music and Ivan Dalley giving the invocation. Musical selections consisted con-sisted of the ward choir singing "That Beautiful Land" acc. by Sylvia Stapley and a vocal duet by Judy and Carma Maxwell "In The Garden" acc. by Joy Christiansen. A eulogy was given by Alma Lawrence, the speaker was Carlisle Hulet and remarks was given by Bishop Frank Dalley. The benediction was offered by Ralph Green and Conley Adams dedicated the grave. Interment was in the Summit Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury & Graff Mortuary. |
