Show "id you know-That know-That if people had to express all their thoughts in words or keep quiet, conversation would become a lost art. 50 years ago In the Coe College Cosmas paper it was noted that the women's league, which includes all sororities of the college, just held their annual officers elections, and Miss Alice Lundgren of Cedar City was chosen as secretary of the society. 25 years ago Two Cedar City men won ROTC Cadet Awards. Thurman W. Gardner received the Armed Forces Communication Association Senior Student Award. Gayle Winterrose received the Sons of American Revolution Medal donated by the Utah Chapter of American Revolution. Gardner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Gardner. He is a junior student majoring in Engineering. Winterrose is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Winterrose and he was a senior student majoring in Business Administration. 10 years ago Ken Benson, vice principal and teacher at Cedar City Jr. High was named "Teacher of the Year", by members of the College of Southern Utah (SUSC) Student Ed. Association. Benson was president of BNS-BAC-CSU Alumni Association and a member of the CSU Board of Trustees. He was born in Cedar City and was involved in many programs, and was an active member of the LDS Church. He married the former Donna Staples of Kanosh and has 2 sons and 2 daughters.
