Show Van DyneBishop dies in Salt Lake City Funeral services were held , July 15 in Salt Lake City for Van Dyne Jones Bishop, who died at her Salt Lake City home July 12. A native of Cedar City she was born here, a daughter of Samuel Bell and Olevia Clark Jones. She married Bennet J. Bishop July 13, 1922 in the Manti LDS Tern-. Tern-. pie. During her life she was active in education serving as a teacher for 20 years in the Salt Lake City schools. She was also well known for her music and performed a lifetime of service in the LDS Church as chorister and organist. Her musical ability also gained her an invitation as a guest director of the school choir held in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. She graduated from the University of Utah. Survivors include her husband, a son, Orion B. Bishop, and two daughters: Mrs. M. Kelly (Olivia Bae) Gardner and Mrs. Albert L. (Dorothy) Fisher, all of Salt Lake City. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, grand-children, three great grandchildren grand-children and the following brothers and sisters: Edgar Jones, Vernal; Carolos Jones, Mrs. Mary Jane Rollo, Mrs. Joe (Ella) Bettridge, DeMoin Jones and LaNoir Jones, all of Cedar City; Mrs. Ken (Olivia Russell, Redding, Calif, and Mrs. Leo (Lillis) Larson, Page, Ariz. Services were held in the Garden Heights Ward in Salt lake City and burial was in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. |
