Show Edwards dies after illness Paragonah Mrs. Belle Edwards, Ed-wards, age 85, passed away July 19 in the Nursing Home in Cedar City after being hospitalized since April 3rd. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted in the Paragonah Ward Chapel on Fri. July 23rd under the direction of Bishop Kenneth G. Topham. The family prayer was offered by Orson Talbot, the prelude and postlude music was by Mrs. Melva Barton. Lagrand Robb offered the invocation. Musical numbers were vocal solos "That Wonderful Mother of Mine" and "Abide With Me Tis Eventide" by Ralph Hafen accompanied by i Mrs. Doris Williams and "Let the Lower Lights be Burning" by a quartete of Parowan men including in-cluding Stephen Adams, Austin LeFevre, Robert Potter and Scott Potter. Speakers were Ivan Robb and Dennis R. Mosdell and an eulogy prepared by Mrs. Idella Robinson was given by Mrs. Shirley White. Bishop Topham gave brief remarks. The benediction was pronounced by J. Lowe Barton and the dedicatory prayer was given by Max Baker. Pall bearers were grandsons-in-law Ralph Occhipinti and Gene Nichols, grandson Steven Edwards and nephews, Darrell Thornton, Dick McBride and Frank Mangiameli. Alice Bell McBride Edwards , was born in Paragonah on May 10, 1891 to William A. and Alice Robinson McBride and was second in a family of seven children. She attended school at the Branch Normal in Cedar City for two years and on Sept. 3, 1910 was married to Edward M. Edwards with whom she lived for more than 65 years. For 15 years they made their home in West-wood, West-wood, Calif. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the LDS Church and of the local DUP Camp. Survivors include her husband, two sons and two daughters, Clifford of Portland, Oregon, Max of Napa, Calif.; Mrs. Bert (Tamson) - Bingham, Anderson, " Calif, and Mrs. Charles (Marie) Leveque, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Another daughter, Mrs. Hazel D'Angelo preceeded her in death. There are fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Wood, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Lee (Lissis) Spencer,. Parowan and Mrs. Lewis (Evelyn) Davenport of Salt Lake City. All of the immediate family were here for the funeral except Clifford who is confined to his bed with cancer of the spine. Others attending were Max's wife Edna, their sons Clark and his wife of Vallejo,. Calif, and Steven and his wife of Napa and their daughter, Mrs. Sharon Prowse of Red Bluffs, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Occhipinti and two children of Los Angeles and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nichols and daughter of Redding, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Harris came from Sun City, Ariz. |
