The closing date is yet to be determined by the Board. Wild torn turkeys will challenge chal-lenge hunters from April 29 through May 14 in; ten southern south-ern Utah counties. Two ''gabblers ''gab-blers may be taken by a hunter hunt-er holding a 1972 small game or comlbination Jisence and a spring turkey permit. Permits will be available for $3 from Wildlife Resources offices of-fices in Salt Lake, Ogden, Provo, Vernal, Price, and Cedar City. Personal or mailed applications ap-plications will be accepted. Muzzle-loading rifles will harass turkeys for the first time this season. The Wildlife Wild-life Board made the black-powder black-powder rifles legal along with previously authorized center-fire center-fire rifles, ,ibows and broad-head broad-head arrows, and conventional convention-al or muzzle-loading shot- guns from 10 to 20 gauge. Some hunters think turkeys prefer muzzle loaders because they can see the cloud of black-powder smoke and step aside before the bullet of shot arrives. |
