Show JAMES E. BROWN James E. Drown is third in family to win UP scholarship James E. Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thales Brown, Parowan, Par-owan, is attending Southern Utah State College this year on a Union Pacific Scholarship. Scholar-ship. Jim is following a family fam-ily tradition, being the third in his immediate family to win a U.P. Scholarship. He graduated from Parowan High School in 1971 where he was active In PFA, football, basketball, and speech participation. partic-ipation. He is currently state vice president' tot the FFA 'organization 'or-ganization and served as vice president and treasurer of the Parowan chapter. In 1971 he participated in the state speech contest in pulblic speaking, and in 1969 was a state contestant in parliamentary parliamen-tary proceedure. Mr. iBrown has won the grand champion prize in the Southwest Livestock Show for three years with the pigs he has raised. He has long been interested in livestock production pro-duction and farming. He won first place in soil and livestock live-stock judging at the 1971 SUSC SU-SC Vocational Day. He plans to ocmplete his education and pursue a career car-eer in veterinary medicine or related fields. In March he will deliver a special address at the state FFA convention in Salt Lake City. |
