Show Selective Service calls from Iron County on increase While government leaders in Washington devote their time to discussions of reduction reduc-tion in the military forces, withdrawl of men from Vietnam Viet-nam and Thailand,- Selective Service calls in Iron County continue to soar. Twenty-five men left Cedar City last week to fill pre-in-duction physical examinations examina-tions and induction calls from Iron County for the month of August, and 23 more will be called to report on September 17th and 18th. Reporting August 20. for in-, .duetion- -were. two. GeeJr- 'Gity. men and three from Parowan, including Rex E. Harris and Ronald Lamoreaux from Cedar Ce-dar City, Johnny W. Guffey, Gail F. Benson, and Scott E. Day of Parowan. Harris has been living in Salt Lake City and Lamoreaux in Tooele. Day was granted a one week delay in reporting because of i special family circumstances. In addition three Cedar City men volunteered for induction and reported fr xaminations at this time, including Kevin L. Davis, James L. Middleton and Kenneth R. Perkins. Three other men, Clifofrd O. Shock, Christopher A.- Leg-gette, Leg-gette, both of California, and Galen J. Allred of Nevada, transferred to Cedar City to report. Gregory Miller transferred trans-ferred from Cedar City to Los Angeles to report. Five men will be ordered to report for induction on September 17, and on September Septem-ber 18, ten regular registrants and eight students will report re-port for pre-induction physical physi-cal examinations. |
