BETTRIDGE Ward Bettridges I honored I at open house here Miss Linda Lois Shumway oi' Orem, became the bride of Ward L. Bettridge of Parowan in a wedding ceremony which was solemnized on April 25 in the Manti Temple of the 'LDS Church. The ceremony was performed by Bent Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, president of the temple tem-ple in the presence of immediate immed-iate members of the families. I The bride is a daughter of I Mr. and Mrs. Elvin G. Shum-!way Shum-!way of Orem and the bridegroom bride-groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bettridge of Parowan. Paro-wan. The parents of the bride were hosts at a reception hon-ning, hon-ning, held in the cultural hall oring the newlyweds that eve-of eve-of the Orem Fifth Ward chapel.. cha-pel.. On Saturday, May 2 the parents of the bridegroom honored hon-ored the newlyweds at an open op-en house, held in the Relief Society rooms of the First-second First-second Ward chapel here. At the open house the bride was unattended and Keith Stubbs stood as best man for Mr. Bettridge. Assisting at the open house I were Sue Dunton at the guest ' book, Mrs. Ken Bettridge and Mrs. Robert Bettridge were at the gift table. Kitchen help included in-cluded Noreen Dunton, Marie Bulloch and Pearl Leigh, and serving were Jenna Dean Whitney, Lynette Joseph, Vic-. Vic-. kie and Claudia Leigh, Linda and Charlotte Bettridge. I The bride is a graduate of the Orem High School and the I bridegroom, of the Parowan j High School and attended the Salt Lake Trade Tech night school. The couple met last ! summer when both were employed em-ployed by Utah Parks Co. at Grand Canyon. They are now making a home in Granger where Ward is an employee of the Salt Lake Tile Co. Going from Parowan to Manti for the wedding and to Orem for the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bettridge, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bettridge Bet-tridge and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Warren. |
