Show Cedar City Jaycees to host State Convention The 35111 annual Utah State Juycee Convention will bo held in Cedar City May 11 through 17, it was announced by Frank Tremea, state Jay-cee Jay-cee president. Some 600 persons per-sons will be in attendance. Events will be held on the Southern Utah State College campus. Under the direction of J. Lynn Uibel, Cedar City, convention con-vention chairman, the four-day four-day event features a full a- genda of business sessions and social activities, including includ-ing a State Executive Committee Com-mittee dinner party hosted at Bloomington May 14 by the Terra cor Corporation. Registration set Registration will take place May 15 from 12 noon to 11 p.m. in the foyer of the SUSC Auditorium. Sessions that day will include a State Kxecutive Committee meeting, "Speak Up Jaycee" finals, orientation for newly elected ofticers, and a get-acquainted steak fry. May 16 events will include breakfast meetings for local presidents and Jaycette presidents, presi-dents, Jaycette Forum and "Speak VL' Jaycette" contest, and President Award and Parade of Cities. All local cnapters will enter a float in tne parade on Cedar City's Main Street. Hugh Pinnock, president of the Regional Office of Connecticut Con-necticut Mutual Life Insurance Insur-ance Company, will deliver the keynote address at a noon luncheon on May 16. General sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at whicn all delegates and guests will be welcomed by Cedar City Mayor May-or Lorcn Whetten and SUSC President Royden C. Braith-waite. The Awards Banquet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Election highlights Campaigning and elections will be conducted on May 17 with swearing in ceremonies in the afternoon tor the newly elected state president, internal inter-nal vice president, and five national directors. Convention business will be concluded by a meeting of the State Executive Execu-tive Committee at 3 p.m. Salt Lake City and Price have filed intention of bidding bid-ding for the 1971 Jaycee Convention, Con-vention, according to Uibel. Headquarters for the Cedar City convention will be the Cedar Crest Motel. |
