Show Parowan City proposes definite outline , for water system; set July 4 observance At the regular meeting of the Parowan City Council on Monday night the proposed improvement program for the city culinary water system again was discussed, and a definite outline of what the icity proposed to do, with the help of the F H Aministra-tion, Aministra-tion, was drawn up. i - I Proposed improvements call for a new 75(),()()() gallon storage stor-age reservoir to be constructed construct-ed abov the city on the south, a lipe line to connect that . reservoir with the present one in the mouth of the canyon, new and bigger lines to connect con-nect with the city distribution system and a new and bigger pipeline to reach up the Parowan Paro-wan Canyon to the Six Mile Spring. The line to connect with the distribution system at the south ends of 100 East and Center Street will be of 12-inch 12-inch cast iron. A 10-inch line will replace the old line in the canyon reaching from from the present storage tank to the forbay and then on to the six mile spring. We understand un-derstand that the city engineer engin-eer will be instructed to transfer trans-fer these plans to the Home Loan Administration, with an application for a loan and grant to finance the project. Wayne Hermansen met with the council to request the city to furnish water to his property proper-ty on the east foothill area, where he intends to build a home. He was informed by the council that he would have to run his own line from his property to a city water line. It was reported to the council coun-cil that there has been a rash of shooting of insulators on the city ppower lines, both in Parowan and Paragonah, with the resultant loss and danger. It was agreed to post a $50 reward offer to any person per-son who will report any such law violations. |
