Show Redmen tangle with Tigers Friday evening Cedar High School Redmen, after suffering a decisive 50-14 50-14 setback in their opening football game of the season, will be scrambling to stay out of the cellar in Region Eight play Friday night when they travel to Hurricane to take on the Tigers. The Redmen and Tigers both lost their opening league contests. Hurricane toppled on their home field to the Delta Rabbits last week, so both teams will be looking for a win to stay out of the cellar position. Millard drew the opening! round bye and traveled to Richfield to pick up a 28-0 victory over Richfield in their opening season contest. Dixie takes a break from league action this week as they host Morgan on their home field at 8 p.m. and in the other Region Eight Class' AA clash Delta will be at Millard Mil-lard in a clash of the two Millard county powers. The Cedar-Hurricane game iss lated to be under the lights with kickoff time set at 8 p.m. You can be sure that the Redmen will be up for this game. According to Coach John Pensis the team escaped without any major physical injuries. The only major injury in-jury was to the team pride and the squad needs to bound back this week to get back in the thick of the batle. The AA schools in the Region Re-gion play a home and home series during the season and the opening loss, although putting the Redmen behind early in the season, does not put them out of the running. A strong line and a power running backfield will be emphasized em-phasized in this week's action as the Redmen iron out the wrinkles to strengthen the defensive de-fensive backfield and cut off the outside running that was so costly against the Flyers in the season opener |
