Show Rampton to appear at dedication Governor Calvin L. Ramipton will be on hand for the official offic-ial dedication of the Iron Mission Park to be held Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Sept. 6, it was announced an-nounced today by Joseph Felix president of the Iron Mission Park Commission. Felix assumed his new position po-sition as head of the commission com-mission Tuesday of this week. He succeeds George Strebel as president. The Dedication program Is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. September 6. Governor Ramp-ton Ramp-ton will fly in from Salt Lake City at noon specifically to be in attendance at the dedication dedica-tion ceremony. Plans call for him to be taken through town in a buggy prior to the ceremony, cere-mony, Felix indicated. The dedication program will b0 under the direction of Felix. Haze Hunter a past president of the commission and a member mem-ber of the Cedar City Council I will present a historical over-I over-I view of the Iron Mission Park and guests will be officially welcomed by Mayor Loren Whetten. Governor Ramp ton will speak briefly prior to the dedication de-dication prayer. Special prelude and post-Jude post-Jude music will be presented toy the Daughters of Utah Pioneers band. Guests will also al-so be presented with "Wooden Nickles" and samples of Iron ore. Featured in the museum, located lo-cated at 585 North Main Street, is the Gronway Pany horsedrawn vehicle display. Felix Indicated that the Iron Mission Park was formerly form-erly opened two weeks ago. It is open each evening, Monday Mon-day through Saturday, from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitor interest has been averaging 50 visitors each j evening, the president lndi- .. Members of the commission are also working with officials of the State Parks and Recreation Re-creation Department in an effort ef-fort to coordinate the publicity publi-city and preservation of the museum and the historically significant items that it contains. con-tains.
